What Is the Ger / Tourist Camp You Stay in in Mongolia?
In Mongolia there are accommodations that use "gers" as lodging for tourists. Inside a ger there are three to four beds, with a wood stove in the center, and a table and chairs. Even in summer, the stove is used when mornings and evenings are chilly. A facility made up of these tourist gers together with attached separate buildings housing a restaurant, toilets, shower rooms and the like is collectively called a "tourist camp".
Deluxe gers are available in tourist areas such as Terelj National Park, Burd and the South Gobi, and have luxurious facilities with shower, toilet and cottage. A surcharge applies for deluxe ger stays, so please ask.

Ar Burd Tourist Camp
The nearest steppe and sand dunes, about 140 km southwest of Ulaanbaatar. Beyond the vast steppe you gallop across, sand dunes suddenly spread out: Bayan Ulaan village and the Arburd tourist camp. Many Naadam horse trainers live around this camp, grazing racehorses and livestock.
