Enjoy a comfortable flight from the airport to Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. After arrival, our local English-speaking staff will meet you. Transfer to the tourist camp / lodge that serves as the base for activities. Leaving the steppe, you are due to arrive at the Arburd base camp at 2:30 pm.

Enjoy the moving desert scenery.

Receive a lecture (explanation) from a nomad (instructor) along with the horses that will travel with you across the steppe. Then set out from the camp with the nomads on a horse trekking experience.

Set against the sand dunes and steppe surrounding Arburd, go horse riding matched to your level. A horse riding caravan with 1 night in a nomad ger and 2 nights in tents.

After breakfast, head to Ulaanbaatar by private car. After arriving in Ulaanbaatar, visit the city's most famous sauna. Then city sightseeing.

Evening: watch a Mongolian folk dance concert.

Late night: go by car with the English-speaking guide to the airport. Head home on MIAT Mongolian Airlines. Morning: arrive in Tokyo (Haneda).

Arburd Steppe Horse Riding Mini Caravan, 8 Days with a Nomad Family Stay

About 140 km south of Ulaanbaatar, this is the nearest place with sand dunes. On the vast grassland you can enjoy various kinds of horse riding. The tourist camp has camels, so you can also try camel riding. About 35 km from the camp is the famous Mongol Elephant Mountain, where you can see wild Mongolian sheep said to have been drawn about 4,000 years ago. The Arburd tourist camp is open every year from May 1 to October 1. It is a tourist facility for 32 guests in a beautiful valley of the Arburd dunes.
Tour points: Enjoy a horse trekking experience on the vast steppe with the nomads! There is a lecture (explanation) before riding. From beginners to experienced riders, everyone can enjoy it with peace of mind.

After a breakfast of dairy products at a nomad's home, go horse trekking. Aim for Zorgol Khairkhan Mountain, where wild sheep live, resting at nomad homes on the way, and spend 2 nights in tents under a sky full of stars. Enjoy Mongolian food in the steppe kitchen too.

  • An English-speaking guide stays with you throughout, and a professional licensed driver is arranged.
  • The vehicle is a private vehicle suited to the number of people: sedan, minibus, 4WD, etc.
  • Meals: as stated in the itinerary (standard three-course meals)
  • Sightseeing and meals may change due to local conditions such as weather or flight delays.
  • We also accept requests for additional arrangements such as extra nights, a private guide or a private car, and for hotel specification or upgrades.

Operating conditions and notes

Booking deadline

For tour bookings, please book at least 15 days before departure (excluding public holidays). If a booking is made after that, we will first reply to you by email to confirm that we can reach each other reliably before we start the arrangements. Bookings 7 days or more before departure will be accommodated as far as possible, so please consult us. (Cancellation charges start from 10 days before, so please note.) Please check the usage guide before booking.

Price notes

This course operates from 2 people, but we can accept a booking for 1 person. In that case an additional charge for a one-person departure and a single-room supplement apply. Please ask us for the price of a one-person departure before booking.

Payment method

After you reserve by email and phone, we will send a travel confirmation and an invoice to your email address. After checking the invoice, transfer 50% of the tour price to our bank account. The booking becomes official after we confirm receipt. The remaining 50% is paid by bank transfer before the trip starts.

5. Payment
Transfer 50% of the invoiced amount (the booking is confirmed after we confirm receipt). Please transfer the remaining 50% before departure.
