Undurshiret is located 200 km southwest of Ulaanbaatar, midway to Karakorum, and is a campsite boasting the best location on the banks of the Tuul River flowing across the steppe.
Its beauty is clear from having been chosen as a filming location for director Makoto Shiina's film "White Horse" and a Kubota commercial. This campsite has special permission from Undurshiret village, so there is no other campsite around. With no other facilities, town lights or power lines, it is also ideal for viewing a sky full of stars!
Undurshiret Tourist Camp truly has the surrounding grand steppe all to itself. The Undurshiret Riverside Campsite is owned by a Japanese woman married to a nomad. Since it is abroad, there is the thought of having a local owner, but when you think of fully enjoying rich activities, a Japanese owner who not only speaks Japanese but whose service reaches every small need lets you enjoy yourself with more peace of mind.

After breakfast, move by private car to Undurshiret on the grand steppe. "About 3 hours"
After arriving, receive a lecture (explanation) from a nomad (instructor) together with the horse that will travel with you across the grand steppe. Then, using the campsite as a base, set out with the nomads for a horse riding trekking experience on the grand steppe.
Optional hot air balloon flight: become the wind blowing across the Mongolian steppe and enjoy the moving 360-degree panorama. Flights take place at calm times of wind, early in the morning or in the evening.

After breakfast, experience horse riding trekking on the grand steppe with the nomads, using the Undurshiret campsite as a base. On the way, visit a nomad's ger. Enjoy the nomads' handmade cheese and, depending on the season, airag. (About one visit during the period.)
The nomads gauge each person's level of improvement and do the horse riding trekking on a course and schedule that suits it without strain. Recommended for those with no riding experience too. On a day with good weather when the nomads judge you have become used to riding, you can enjoy lunch on the grand steppe.

After arrival, Ulaanbaatar city sightseeing: Gandan Monastery, a Tibetan Buddhist temple; Zaisan Hill, with a view over the whole city; Sukhbaatar Square in the center of the city; and shopping at the food zakh (market), where you can glimpse citizens' daily life. In the evening, we guide you to a Mongolian folk dance concert.

Operating conditions and notes

Booking deadline

For tour bookings, please book at least 15 days before departure (excluding public holidays). If a booking is made after that, we will first reply to you by email to confirm that we can reach each other reliably before we start the arrangements. Bookings 7 days or more before departure will be accommodated as far as possible, so please consult us. (Cancellation charges start from 10 days before, so please note.) Please check the usage guide before booking.

Price notes

This course operates from 2 people, but we can accept a booking for 1 person. In that case an additional charge for a one-person departure and a single-room supplement apply. Please ask us for the price of a one-person departure before booking.

Payment method

After you reserve by email and phone, we will send a travel confirmation and an invoice to your email address. After checking the invoice, transfer 50% of the tour price to our bank account. The booking becomes official after we confirm receipt. The remaining 50% is paid by bank transfer before the trip starts.
